During the Polish Gala of the competition Best of European Business three companies were awarded in the following categories: Growth, Mergers & Acquisitions and International Competitiveness.

The Gala took place on December 1, 2008 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The event finalized the fourth Polish edition of the competition Best of European Business organized by the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. During the evening the laureates – LPP S.A., Synthos S.A. and TELE-FONIKA Kable Sp. z o.o. S.K.A. – were handed in the statues.

Wojciech Fibak, Polish tennis player, entrepreneur and art collector was the guest of honor at the Gala.

The winners of Polish edition of Best of European Business 2008

Among the nominated enterprises in the Growth Category, the Jury has pointed at the biggest Polish clothing company, LPP S.A., for its most dynamic and most stable growth.
Synthos S.A., leading Polish chemical producer, was voted the best company in M&A Category. The Company gained recognition for the takeover of its Czech counterpart and previous competitor in the European synthetic rubber market, Kaucuk a.s.

TELE-FONIKA Kable Sp. z o.o. S.K.A. won in the International Competitiveness Category. The enterprise is Europe’s fourth biggest cable manufacturer and is noted as one of the world’s largest suppliers of cable and wire. TELE-FONIKA was valued for the export share in 2007 sales revenue – ca. 70% of the production is sold to foreign contractors around the globe.

Winners of Polish edition of BEB competition will be competing for the main prize during the final European Gala with the best companies from other four countries: France, Portugal, Spain and Germany.
