The competition was part of the “Apteki Dbam o Zdrowie” programme run by the Dbam o Zdrowie company (created from the Polska Grupa Famaceutyczna) and “Twoje Dziecko” monthly magazine. It is supported by the Minister of Health and Polish Paediatric Association (Polskie Towarzystwo Pediatryczne).
The meeting included a health contest in which children could win attractive prizes. The young patients were also visited by a special guest, a big soft toy dog which played with them and took photos with the children. All the kids received toys, with organisers also visiting those patients who could not attend the meeting due to their condition.
The “Hug Me” campaign started at the beginning of May in the following Polish magazines: “Twoje Dziecko”, “Mamo to Ja”, “Twój Maluszek”, “Dbam o Zdrowie” and “Bez recepty” and aimed to select one of several toy designs as a mascot. The toys have already been given to over 1,000 little patients of hospitals in Łódź, Olsztyn, Lublin, Gdańsk and Poznań.
